October 22, 2024

#news

  • The Head of NRA has signed a contract with ITIS Holding a.s. which became the third provider of the European Electronic Toll Service (EETS)
  • EETS means one contract, one account and one device for drivers travelling within the European Union (EU).

On 22 October 2024 the Head of NRA signed a contract with ITIS Holding a.s. which will provide EETS in Poland. This company is the third EETS provider after Telepass S.p.A and Toll4Europe to render services to toll road users. The next stage to be implemented by ITIS Holding a.s. will be accreditation tests, and EETS will be launched upon their successful completion.

The European Electronic Toll Service (EETS) enables toll payments in European Union countries with electronic toll systems. Drivers opting for EETS conclude a contract with one EETS Provider they chose, use only one On Board Unit (so-called OBU), have one user account and receive one invoice for all transits. Users who choose to use a particular EETS Provider thus fulfil their obligation to pay for their travel. They no longer have to settle with the national toll collector, the Head of NRA, via the NRA Electronic Toll Collection System (the so-called e-TOLL system).

As a reminder, the current active EETS providers in the toll collection area of the Head of NRA are:

The e-TOLL system users who wish to use the EETS should follow the information on the website of the provider they chose.
