New toll road sections in e-TOLL

October 25, 2024

#news

  • On 1 November, new toll road sections will be added to the e-TOLL system.
  • The newly added sections are mostly extensions of roads that are already subject to the toll.
  • Payment of the electronic toll is mandatory for users of heavy goods vehicles, i.e. motor vehicles, combinations of vehicles with a maximum permissible weight of more than 3.5 tonnes and buses.

As of 1 November, the network of toll road sections in Poland will be extended. Drivers will find out about the new toll road sections from road signs placed along the extended toll road network. In particular, users of local roads (e.g. in the vicinity of Szczecinek, Wałcz, Jarocin, Ostrów Wielkopolski or Kępno) on which they have so far travelled free of charge should pay attention to the new road signs.

A detailed list of the new toll sections effective from 1 November 2024 can be found under the link List of new toll road sections.

How to pay for e-TOLL

The e-TOLL system works on the basis of modern satellite navigation technology (Global Navigation Satellite Systems – GNSS), which relies on the transmission of geolocalisation data of the vehicle to the system in order to calculate the electronic toll. The transmission of data is made possible by the location device with which the vehicle must be equipped. In order to pay the toll users choose the device most suited to their needs from among the available toll payment tools:

If the toll is not paid, the user will be fined or receive an administrative penalty.

Value of guarantee for deferred payment mode

As soon as the charged tolls reach 99% of the established guarantee, deferred payment mode is blocked. In such a situation, users should review their travel plans and calculate the missing amount of guarantee using the guarantee amount calculator.
