Please be reminded of the need for OBU/ELS operators who have been approved for connection of their ICT system to the e-TOLL system to follow the "Technical requirements for transmission of geolocation data" published under OBU and ZSL operators.
One such requirement is to transmit toll road travel data immediately to e-TOLL once it has been collected
Due to the reported cases of non-compliance by some OBU/ELS operators with the above requirement, the Head of KAS is introducing a time limit for OBU/ELS operators to submit data to e-TOLL. Starting on 28 March 2023, e-TOLL users of OBU/ELS devices will only be processed and tariffed with data that is no more than 10 days old from the time of registration.
The introduction of this limit will not result in the need for OBU/ELS operators to retest admitted devices and will not have a technical or functional impact on the current way geolocation data is transmitted to e-TOLL.
KAS expects OBU/ELS operators to comply with technical requirements and to transmit geolocation data to the e-TOLL system continuously and without delay.
Failure to send geolocation data to e-TOLL by the above time limit will put the users of OBU/ELS devices at risk of facing penal and administrative consequences resulting from violations identified in the form of non-payment of tolls for e-TOLL road sections.
