The motorways toll plazas organization

Organization in force since October 1, 2021:

New traffic organization:

at each toll plaza there will be:

  • two extreme entry / exit lanes only for e-TOLL users
  • other entry / exit lanes dedicated only to servicing users using the manual system

at each toll station there will be:

  • one extreme entry / exit lane dedicated only to e-TOLL users
  • one extreme entry / exit lane (or more) dedicated only to manual servicing

It is not possible to pay tolls using the viaAUTO and viaBOX on-board devices!

Free drive on the Gliwice bypass for light vehicles

For drivers of light vehicles, on the A4 Wrocław-Sośnica section of the motorway, the Gliwice bypass (Kleszczów - Żernica) is free of charge - there is no need to collect a ticket and use the e-TOLL application on the lanes dedicated to e-TOLL.

  • When using the Gliwice bypass, users of light vehicles entering the motorway through e-TOLL gates should also use e-TOLL gates when leaving.
  • If a user who uses the free Gliwice bypass enters the motorway through e-TOLL gates, and exits through the gates with manual servicing, they will be charged the maximum rate for the A4 Wrocław - Sośnica motorway.
  • If a user who uses the free Gliwice bypass enters the motorway through gates dedicated to manual servicing, when leaving on the lane with manual servicing, they should show the casher the ticket collected upon entry.

Detailed information

When entering a motorway through a toll plaza, make sure to choose the right entry lane. Each of them has been clearly and legibly marked, thus facilitating drivers to smoothly enter the toll road.

A green arrow means the lane is open to traffic and a red cross means it is closed.

  • Drivers, who wish to use the manual payment method should choose any open entrance lane on the left side of the toll plaza, above which there is a ticket dispenser, and take a ticket.
  • Drivers of passenger vehicles using the e-TOLL system should choose lanes with the e-TOLL sign above them. This will be the first outgoing lane or the first two outgoing lanes at toll plazas counting from the right.

When exiting motorways through toll plazas, care must be taken to select the correct exit lane. Each of them is clearly and legibly marked, making it easier for drivers to exit the toll road smoothly.

A green arrow means the lane is open to traffic and a red cross means it is closed.

  • Drivers, who wish to use the manual payment method should choose any open exit lane on the left side of the toll plaza, above which there is a sign symbolising a toll collector. The number of open lanes depends on the volume of traffic.
  • Drivers of passenger vehicles using the e-TOLL system should choose lanes with the e-TOLL sign above them. Depending on the location, this will be the first outermost lane (SPO) or the two outermost right lanes on toll plazas (PPO), counting from the right.

Organization of toll plazas on:

Konin-Stryków (A2)

Bielany Wrocławskie-Sośnica (A4)

Detailed information on the organization of toll plazas:

Organization of toll collection points on the A4 Wrocław - Sośnica section:

  • At the Żernica Toll Plaza and Karwiany Toll Plaza, there are two rightmost exit lanes dedicated to the e-TOLL and viaTOLL electronic tolls, where manual handling is not carried out.
  • At all A4 toll plazas, one entry lane is dedicated to e-TOLL system users.
  • At Toll Plazas, the functioning of the rightmost exit lane dedicated to e-TOLL has been changed by providing service to 3 toll collection systems (manual, viaTOLL, e-TOLL). If a user in such a lane informs the collector that they have paid the toll under the e-TOLL (SPOE KAS), they will be permitted to travel.
  • At Toll Plazas, the left exit lane is intended only for manual handling and for viaTOLL users. This lane is not intended for e-TOLL users.
  • On all entry lanes dedicated to e-TOLL system users, it is possible to collect a ticket from a dispenser. Therefore, even if a driver by mistake enters the e-TOLL entry lane without having an e-TOLL PL mobile application installed, they will collect a motorway ticket. They will be able to leave the motorway using a gate intended for manual payments and pay.

Organization of toll collection points on the A2 Konin - Stryków section:

  • Due to increased traffic on the A2 Konin - Stryków motorway, during the holiday season, i.e., from July 23 to the end of August this year, every weekend - from Friday from 1.00 pm to Sunday to 12.00 pm, at the Stryków toll plaza and Żdżary toll plaza it will be possible for vehicles with a GVM below 3.5t, to collect entry tickets on lanes dedicated to e-TOLL users by drivers who do not yet use the new system
  • After collecting the motorway ticket, the driver will be able to leave the motorway using the gate intended for manual payment and pay at the collector in cash or by card
  • e-TOLL and viaTOLL system users do not need to collect tickets

Lanes dedicated to e-TOLL system users are marked with the following sign:

Oznakowanie pasa wjazdowego

NOTE

Dedicated e-TOLL lanes are intended for users paying electronic toll for the passage of heavy vehicles on roads subject to electronic toll payment and for users of vehicles with maximum permissible weight not exceeding 3.5 t paying toll for the passage of motorways under the e-TOLL system.

By the time the electronic toll collection system viaTOLL is deactivated, users of the viaAUTO on board units may use all lanes for manual payment - the barrier will rise automatically.
