Vehicle category and exhaust emission class

Vehicles registered in Poland:

Vehicle category can be determined on the basis of either of the following documents:

• Vehicle registration document,
• Certificate of roadworthiness,
• Extract of the certificate of inspection,

Vehicles registered outside of Poland:

Vehicle weight class can be determined on the basis of either of the following documents:

• Vehicle registration document,
• Certificate of roadworthiness,
• Extract of the certificate of inspection of the vehicle,

NOTE: If you do not have any of the above mentioned documents for unambiguous determination of the vehicle category, the vehicle will be registered with the highest possible category, i.e. +12 t.

Exhaust emission class for a vehicle can be determined on the basis of either of the following documents:

• EURO certificate,
• Vehicle registration document,
• Certificate of roadworthiness,
• Extract of the certificate of inspection of the vehicle,
• Copy of approval exemption decision for a vehicle,
• Document issued by the vehicle manufacturer or the manufacturer’s authorized representative,
• CE statement of conformity,
• Copy of prior registration document with the same VIN (for unambiguous identification of the vehicle).

Indication of exhaust emission class in the vehicle registration document:

• Immediate entry in the registration document as the Euro classification of the vehicle (e.g. Euro 1, Euro 5), or
• After the year of manufacture, based on the reference table (applicable to vehicles registered in Poland or foreign vehicles):
